As we honor Earth Month, we’re reflecting on the significant environmental contribution QT’s Fuel Ticket Automation (FTA) system is making in the aviation industry. Sustainability is at the core of our mission, and we’re proud to share some insights into the eco-friendly benefits our technology delivers:
𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗙𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗧𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: FTA provides a fully digital solution for fueling operations, eliminating the need for traditional paper tickets. With tens of thousands of daily transactions processed through our ruggedized Android-based device (pictured below) and managed via our online QT Portal, our customers are dramatically reducing paper waste while optimizing the efficiency of their daily operations.
𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗨𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗙𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲: Our research, drawn from real operational data, reveals that some airports overfuel more than 80% of their flights. QT’s Overfill Prevention feature safeguards against excess fuel consumption (where up to 25% of surplus fuel is burned in flight), reducing the average number of overfueled flights to less than 1% and mitigating the risk of spills.
𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱: By streamlining processes and eliminating the need for fueling vehicles to return to a central location for new assignments or drive between gates unnecessarily, FTA reduces preventable vehicle emissions. For instance, at an average airport, each fueling vehicle emits an extra 64 lbs of CO2 into the atmosphere daily due to additional driving distances.
As QT continues to innovate and develop solutions for a sustainable future, we remain committed to minimizing the environmental footprint of aviation operations. Together, let’s work towards a greener and more sustainable world. Happy Earth Month!
