DALLAS, Texas, March 4, 2026 — Fuel operations demand a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and operational resilience, making fuel inventory management one of the most complex and consequential responsibilities within commercial aviation. For Albany Airport Authority, managing fuel activity across multiple stakeholders required a digital solution that could deliver reliable close-out and real-time visibility—without disrupting day-to-day operations.
In partnership with Million Air, which manages both the fuel farm and into-plane fueling services at Albany International Airport, the Airport Authority implemented QT Vantage™ alongside QT Gateway™ to modernize fuel inventory reconciliation and strengthen operational oversight. Today, Albany International Airport operates with a fully digital, end-to-end fuel operations workflow in place.
Prior to implementing QT Vantage™, fuel inventory reconciliation at Albany International Airport relied on a combination of digitally captured fuel ticket data and manual, spreadsheet-based reconciliation processes. While fuel transaction data was available through existing systems, reconciling scheduled fuel receipts, actual deliveries, and aircraft uplifts required significant coordination between the Airport Authority and its fuel operator, with limited real-time visibility into variances until the close-out process.
As fuel volumes increased and operational complexity grew, the Airport Authority identified the need for a more streamlined, automated approach—one that could support accurate close-out, improve transparency, and provide confidence across stakeholders responsible for fuel oversight and financial reporting.
To address this need, the Airport Authority and Million Air worked closely with QT Technologies to introduce QT Vantage™ through a structured implementation process designed to minimize operational disruption. Following a parallel run period to validate workflows and data accuracy, QT Vantage™ transitioned into production use, integrating seamlessly with QT Gateway™, which was already supporting digital fuel ticket capture for commercial operations. This phased approach allowed stakeholders to align on processes, confirm reconciliation accuracy, and establish confidence in the system prior to full adoption.
With QT Vantage™ operating in production, Albany International Airport has transitioned to a fully centralized, automated workflow for managing fuel inventory and reconciliation. The system provides improved visibility into fuel activity across the operation and supports consistent, repeatable close-out processes across stakeholders.
Leveraging a direct, real-time integration with QT Gateway™, QT Vantage™ captures ramp fueling activity as it occurs, ensuring that all aircraft disbursements are immediately reflected in position holders’ fuel inventory balances and ready for reconciliation. This integrated approach provides a complete, accurate view of fuel operations—from the fuel farm through aircraft fueling—while reducing reliance on manual reconciliation workflows.
“QT Vantage™ has significantly strengthened our fuel reconciliation and accounting processes,” said Margaret Herrmann, Chief Financial Officer at the Albany Airport Authority. “By transforming what was previously a manual effort into a structured, system-driven workflow, we’ve improved visibility, consistency, and confidence in our close-out reporting. The QT team has been a responsive and collaborative partner throughout the implementation.”
“QT Gateway™ has helped streamline our fueling operations at ALB, giving our teams a more consistent and efficient way to manage ramp activity and fueling data,” said Brian King, General Manager at Million Air Albany. “Having real-time visibility into fueling activity has improved coordination across our operation and allows us to handle peak holiday schedules, diversions, and callbacks with ease.”
According to QT’s team, the success at Albany reflects the importance of close collaboration between airport authorities, fuel operators, and technology providers.
“Albany International Airport and Million Air were deeply engaged throughout the implementation process,” said Jan Slunsky, Vice President, New Products & Innovation at QT Technologies. “That collaboration allowed us to validate workflows in a real operational environment and deliver a reliable solution that supports both accuracy and efficiency at scale.”
With QT Vantage™ now integrated alongside QT Gateway™, Albany International Airport operates with a proven, end-to-end digital fuel operations workflow in place. By extending its existing digital fueling foundation into inventory management and reconciliation, the Airport Authority has strengthened operational visibility and positioned its fuel operations for continued efficiency and reliability in the years ahead.
