QT Technologies Exhibits In-Demand Fueling Productivity Innovation
at WPMA Convention
Dallas, TX – February 19, 2008 – QT Technologies, an innovator across the petroleum industry, today will be showcasing its mobile fueling resource management service at the 55th Annual Western Petroleum Marketers Association (WPMA) Convention and Convenience Store Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. QT has seen strong demand for the service since its debut at this event last year, with both large regional fueling companies and sole proprietorships using the service this fueling season.
The QT service utilizes an in-cab Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) with a simple to use, touch-screen interface that manages all aspects of delivery – optimized routing, GPS-based mapping, inventory management and payment processing. The “one-touch delivery” operation allows the driver to complete each stop very efficiently. Payment can be made by the customer on-site with cash, credit cards, ATM debit cards or ACH/electronic checks.
The key innovation is the QT Productivity Engine™ which operates from the QT Data Center. The Productivity Engine, using the cellular networks, communicates in real-time with each in-cab MDT. The information cached at the Data Center and communicated to the MDT includes route updates, on-board volumetric product inventory and detailed customer profiles which contain correct pricing and applicable taxes. With these automatic updates to his in-cab unit, the driver simply moves through the schedule in the order presented to execute the most fuel efficient route. The real-time connectivity also allows the unit to serve as a point-of-sale device, validating transactions with the payment processors and exercising the strong QT fraud prevention methodologies.
Completing the productivity cycle, the details on each completed delivery are transmitted from the MDT to the Data Center and then passed on to a back office management system. No changes are required to the client's existing systems; adapters are available for the most popular systems. On-line tools that query the Data Center are also available for back office personnel to track trucks in real-time, determine inventory positions and generate productivity reports.
QT can also support consumer self-service tools, integrating the real-time payment functionality into a client’s existing web site and allowing consumers to review their delivery schedules and invoices.
The WPMA Convention is one of the leading petroleum marketers meetings of the year. The convention runs through February 21, with a theme reflecting the tradition of exemplary service that the attendees have been delivering to their customers in the past, present and future. Liquid Controls, known for intelligent metering in the fuels industry, is featuring the QT solution in their booth (#310) with live demonstration of both the driver and back office productivity enhancements available to fuel marketers of any size.
